YOUR LIFE EVENTS

When you enroll as a new hire, or during the annual open enrollment period, many of your benefit selections remain in effect for the entire calendar plan year. However, you may make a change to your benefits if you or your family experience a change that qualifies as a “Life Event." In this section, we’ve outlined common life events, including the things you need to consider and actions you need to take to make sure any benefit changes go smoothly.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS CHANGES

Employment status changes, such as moving from part-time to full-time, or other classification changes, may allow you to gain, change or lose eligibility for certain benefits. That is why status changes are considered a benefit “Life Event.” See the information in the Qualifying Life Events section at left.

If you have a status change, you will have a 30 day window to make applicable changes to your benefits in Workday. Any changes are effective on the status change date.
