YOUR TIME AWAY

We recognize that, from time to time, things happen that keep you from coming to work. Our benefits are designed to give you the flexibility you need to live your life, spend time with your family and tend to the things outside of work that are important to you.

GOING OUT ON DISABILITY

Things happen. That’s why we offer benefits to help keep you covered if you need to take a medical leave of absence due to illness, injury, the birth of a child or the need to care for a sick family member. While on leave you may be invited to join one of our Condition Management Programs, where experts can help you understand your condition, make informed choices and provide support to aid recovery.

Short-term disability (STD)

Short-term disability (STD) benefits will begin once you’ve been out of work for seven consecutive days if you are unable to work for a covered illness or injury. For salaried outfitters, these benefits replace 100 percent of your income for eight weeks and 60 percent of your weekly pay up to 17 weeks, up to a weekly maximum of $5,000. For hourly outfitters, these benefits replace 60 percent of your income for 25 weeks, up to a weekly maximum benefit of $1,250. Short-term disability coverage is provided for salaried outfitters and is a voluntary benefit offered to hourly outfitters requiring enrollment.

Long-term disability (LTD)

Long-term disability (LTD) benefits begin once short-term disability or workers’ compensation benefits end. These benefits replace 60 percent of your weekly pay up to a maximum monthly benefit of $15,000 for salaried and $5,000 for hourly, if you continue to be disabled after 180 days (the length of your STD benefit). LTD benefits generally pay as long as you are disabled up to your retirement age, or you become employable for any occupation. Long-term disability coverage is provided for salaried outfitters and is a voluntary benefit offered to hourly associates requiring enrollment.

Family medical leave (FML)

Family Medical Leave (FML) benefits allow up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave with medical coverage and the ability to maintain your benefits. If your absence is scheduled, you must call 30 days in advance of leave. If your absence is unscheduled, you must call on the same or next business day from the date you become aware of the leave.

See plan documents for complete details. To request a medical leave, notify your supervisor and site HR representative first, and then contact our medical leave administrator, Unum, at 1-866-245-2934 as directed.
